Amilyn Holdo was a Vice Admiral in the Resistance during the conflict with the First Order. She hailed from the planet Gatalenta and was known for her unconventional thinking and striking purple hair.

Holdo served alongside Leia Organa in the Galactic Senate as part of the Apprentice Legislature and formed a close, though at times challenging, friendship. She was fiercely loyal to the ideals of the Republic and later the Resistance.

During the First Order's pursuit of the fleeing Resistance fleet following the Battle of Crait, Holdo assumed command after General Organa was incapacitated. Her decisions, perceived as secretive and evasive, led to tension with Poe Dameron.

Ultimately, Holdo sacrificed herself by piloting the Raddus through the First Order's flagship, the Supremacy, at lightspeed. This act of selfless heroism allowed the remaining Resistance members to escape to Crait and continue the fight.
